The webinars focus on a single topic area for candidates who are struggling with particular concepts, just cannot seem to get something to click, or simply want a refresher to ensure that their understanding is solid. They’re conducted via Skype or something similar. I ask that participants submit specific questions at least a week in advance so that I have time to prepare comprehensive answers/discussions. The price will vary depending on the number of participants: the more candidates who join in, the lower the cost per candidate.
I’ll be putting together a tentative schedule; when that’s done, I’ll post it. In the interim, if you have particular topics you’d like to see, drop me an e-mail.
I tutor candidates one-on-one or in small groups, either in person (in North Orange County, CA), or via Skype. In-person tutoring is $120/hour for one-on-one, or $100/hour per person for a small group. Tutoring via Skype is $100/hour for one-on-one, or $80/hour per person for a small group.
Level III Practice/Mock Exam Marking
I mark Level III morning session practice/mock exams, then spend about 1 – 1½ hours online with the candidate reviewing the exam question-by-question, explaining the basis for how I marked each part, and discussing where the candidate when right or wrong and ways to improve the overall score. What makes my marking sessions unique is that we will discuss not only the questions asked and answered, but variations on those questions and how the correct answer might differ based on those variations. Marking is $200/exam (for my own exams, or prior years’ CFA Institute actual morning exams, but not CFA Institute mock exams), and I need to have the candidate’s answers at least 48 hours before our scheduled online meeting time.
If you want me to mark a third-party practice/mock exam, I’ll need to see the exam and the guideline answers before I agree to do so. The reason is simply that some third-party exams can be quite poor, which requires me to redo the guideline answers, or, sometimes, scrap some questions altogether. It can be a painful experience.
If you have an event for which you would like a keynote address, please drop me an e-mail with the date, time, location, and, if appropriate, topic(s) of choice.
Imagine that you played some baseball in your youth: Little League, Pony, Colt, maybe high school or college ball, but nothing more. Suddenly, you find that been recruited to be the starting pitcher in the World Series. What do you do?
I talk about my experience as an unlikely member of the 2012 US TREC team at the TREC World Championship in Mafra, Portugal: how I made the team, my unique preparation, my injury just prior to the competition, my ultimate participation, and the lessons to be learned.
If you would like to book me for your company, please send me an e-mail with the preferred date, time, and location.
Not everyone can say that they’ve had the pleasure of a magical evening with a CFA charterholder, warhead designer, and international equestrian; you can! If you’d like to book a show – close-up or parlor (stage) magic – drop me an e-mail with the particulars.
